In Spring 2019, we debuted a new Streaming Science interactive program called ‘Scientist Online’. University of Florida Agricultural and Environmental Communication (AEC) graduate students and entomologists worked together to utilize the Skype in the Classroom platform to connect with elementary and middle schools in Florida, Pennsylvania, Canada, and Pakistan. The program content and dialogue focused on mosquitoes, mosquito-borne illnesses, and entomology careers. The program was in partnership with the UF/IFAS Center for Public Issues Education (PIE) and the Prevent and Protect program funded by the Florida Department of Health.
