A feature story about Dr. Shunping Ding and her work with grapevine diseases.
Dr. Shunping Ding is an assistant professor in the wine and viticulture and horticulture and crop science departments at CalPoly. She has three main projects that she focuses her time on, including identifying and treating trunk disease, powdery mildew disease, and how fungicides can lose their efficacy over pathogens. Dr. Ding keeps sustainable agricultural practices in mind when conducting research. Ben Shinkwin, Beka Dunaway, and Felipe Vallejo, students at CalPoly developed a photo essay to tell the story of Dr. Ding and her work with grapevine diseases.
