Much like everyone, we experienced major transitions in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Agricultural Education and Communication faculty and students at the University of Florida moved from regular in-person classroom-based teaching and learning to fully online education and communication environments. However, undergraduate students in AEC 4035: Communication Practices for Agricultural and Natural Resources remained positive, adjusted several of their final projects, and found ways to document COVID-19’s impacts through photo essays from different perspectives.
While people have experienced many negative effects of COVID-19, there have been some positive outcomes of being quarantined during the COVID-19 pandemic. Megan Lundequam, an agricultural education and communication student at the University of Florida, highlights some positive aspects that the COVID-19 pandemic has bestowed upon people. Ideas such as connecting more with friends and family, staying healthy through outdoor physical activity, and so on.
