Mitigating Climate Change Through Alternative Soil Management

Dr. Charlotte Decock is a faculty member in the Natural Resources Management and Environmental Sciences Department at CalPoly. Dr. Decock’s research focuses on the nutrient requirements for different cultivars of strawberries and investigating cover crops as a management practice for soil health and improving yields in citrus orchards. The primary motivation for Dr. Decock’s research is to play a part in the development of more sustainable practices of soil management in all aspects of agriculture. Erin Clendenen and Haley Boyajian, Cal Poly students, developed a photo essay to highlight the work of Dr. Decock.
