Swisher’s Journey Through Research

This is the third story in a series of photo essays about UF/IFAS Extension and the impactful work Extension agents and specialist contribute to communities and the state of Florida.

Dr. Mickie Swisher is an associate professor of sustainable agriculture in the Department of Family Youth and Community Sciences (FYCS), and she also as the director of the Center for Sustainable and Organic Food Systems at the University of Florida. With a focus in geography, Dr. Swisher’s is most interested in finding answers and implementing solutions to support farmers. This photo essay was developed by Genaveve Henson and Megan Winfree, agricultural education and communication students at the University of Florida.
