This project is part of our Nature Narrative photo essay series, which focuses on different nature sites in the state of Florida. Students visited their selected sites and gave detailed descriptions of their experiences and the scenery around them, while highlighting aspects of the environment that are important to the state of Florida.
As an agricultural communications student at the University of Florida, Mackenzie Atkins has been exposed to the benefit of the environment and natural areas. Mackenzie has a passion for advocating the importance of agriculture and natural lands. Mackenzie chose to write about her experience at Bok Tower Gardens because of the location’s beauty and conservation efforts near her home on the Lake Wales Ridge.
